In November, Fieri told Fox News Digital that he “exploded” his quad muscle in a fall down steps during taping of the show, which required emergency surgery.
In the nearly hourlong podcast, released Dec. 18, Fieri also talked to Johnson about the evolution of his popular Food Network shows like “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” and “Guy’s Grocery Games,” where Johnson — a noted food writer — frequently appears as a judge, as well as the growth of his Flavortown brand and his Santo Tequila brand, which Fieri co-founded in 2019 with former Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar.
Fieri also spoke to Johnson about his Guy Fieri Foundation, which he called “the greatest achievement I’ve ever had in my career.”
Fieri described the foundation’s work preparing free ready-to-heat meals for needy families on Thanksgiving and how the foundation regularly travels to disasters to feed emergency responders. He also said the foundation “will live on in perpetuity.”
“I’ll be dead, and this foundation will have its own money, it’s own trajectory,” Fieri told Johnson.
“You’re never going to die, by the way,” Johnson interrupted.
“Exactly,” Fieri responded. “I’ll be back in the crutches like I am now!”
