Tatiana Schlossberg‘s husband, George Moran, is asking loved ones to help keep his wife’s memory “alive” following her death at age 35.
“Yesterday, we said goodbye to Tatiana. Heartbreak doesn’t begin to capture the sadness we feel. Our hearts are with Caroline [Kennedy] and Ed and George and Josie and Eddie and Rose and Jack [Schlossberg],” read a social media message shared by Maria Shriver‘s brother Tim Shriver on Tuesday, January 6.
Tim, 66, continued: “She was so smart and so funny, just like her mom. She was so thoughtful and so brilliant, just like her dad. She had faith in the sacredness of nature and in its maker too. She was willing to take on the great work of our time—telling the truth without fear.”
The activist and producer said Tatiana’s loved ones were unable to find any “sense” in her death, “only indescribable sadness and all of our faith.”

He went on to reveal how Tatiana’s husband encouraged family and friends to keep her in their hearts.
“Her husband George asked us all to be part of keeping her alive by being playful and doing crossword puzzles (in under 5 minutes), being the best friend in the world, listening with kindness, speaking with truth, laughing hysterically, and so much more,” Tim wrote. “We promise to carry her with us into this new year and for the years to come. And we invite you to join us in living each day with gratitude, love, a sense of humor, and action. We love you Tatiana.”
Tim included two photos alongside his heartfelt tribute, one of which was a throwback snap from when the relatives were younger.
Tatiana, the granddaughter of former president John F. Kennedy, revealed in a November 2025 essay for The New Yorker that she was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. She died one month later on December 30.
Along with Moran and their two children, Tatiana is survived by her parents, siblings and members of the extended Kennedy family, many of whom gathered in New York City on Monday, January 5, for a private memorial service.
Maria — whose mother, Eunice Kennedy Shriver, was JFK’s sister — previously shared an emotional goodbye to Tatiana via Instagram as news broke of her death.

“I cannot make sense of this. I cannot make any sense of it at all. None. Zero. … Whatever your faith, please pray for Tatiana and her grieving family,” she wrote. “Tatiana was the light, the humor, the joy. She was smart, wicked smart, as they say, and sassy. She was fun, funny loving, caring, a perfect daughter, sister, mother, cousin, niece, friend, all of it.”
Maria noted that Tatiana’s spirit would live on through the people who knew her best. “Those of us left behind will make sure Eddie and Josie know what a beautiful, courageous spirit their mother was and will always be. She takes after her extraordinary mother, Caroline,” she added. “May we all hold Tatiana’s family in our collective embrace not just today, but in the days ahead, and may each of you who read this know how lucky you are to be alive right now. Please pause and honor your life. It truly is such a gift. ♥️.”
In a separate post on Monday, Maria reflected on the process of grieving. “As anyone who has battled grief, sadness, or despair knows, once you’re down, it’s a hard climb back up,” she wrote. “Heartbreak befalls us all in different ways and at different times. When it does, we must stop and grieve. We must honor our pain. And then, when we can, we must find a way to crawl slowly back up. But we can’t do it alone. It’s impossible. We rise with the help of others through kindness, friendship, support, and grace. Life calls us all to rise. And in this new year, rising feels very much on the menu.”
