A woman died Monday after attempting to cross U.S. 34 and was struck by two vehicles.
Greeley police arrived at the crash at 5:50 p.m. Monday, according to a Greeley Police Department news release. Initial investigations show that a 19-year-old woman tried to cross U.S. 34 in the 5500 block in an unmarked area with no crosswalk, where she was struck by a Chevrolet Blazer on the driver’s side, driven by a 54-year-old man. The impact sent her into the inside lane of traffic where she was struck by a Chevrolet Traverse, driven by a 37-year-old woman.
The woman was taken to Northern Colorado Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. Her name will be released by the Weld County Coroner’s Office following notification of next of kin.
Neither of the drivers was injured and no charges against them are anticipated, according to the release. A witness to the crash told police they saw the woman cross the street as traffic arrived.
