ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Hilton Cadets and Greece Storm hockey teams will face each other on Saturday, Jan. 10, in a third annual game to honor first responders.
First Responder Appreciation Night is happening at the Lakeshore Hockey Arena on 123 Ling Road. The ceremony begins at 5:30 p.m. and the puck drops at 6 p.m.
There’s no admission fee for this game, but donations will be accepted at the admissions table. All donations and apparel sales will benefit the Hilton Fire Department Explorer Post and the Greece Police Cadet Program. You can learn more about the game here.
The Hilton Fire Department Explorer Post program is for junior firefighters aged 14-18, grades 9-12 within the Hilton/Parma fire district These junior firefighters are trained in pump operations, first aid, stop the bleed, CPR and EMT. Not only do explorers gain experiential knowledge, but they also make lifelong connections that have invaluable influence on character and career.
The Greece Police Cadet program is for youth ages 14-18 Greece/Hilton residents who are interested in law enforcement. It gives teens hands-on intro to law enforcement with training in tactics, report writing, & reality-based scenarios. This program helps build strong community ties while preparing participants for careers in public service.
