Rain showers linger through Wednesday in San Diego County, but changes ahead

Isolated light to locally moderate rain showers are expected to continue through Wednesday across San Diego County, according to the National Weather Service.

As of 11 a.m. Monday, the San Diego River at Fashion Valley had dropped below monitor/action stage after peaking at 8.11 feet during heavy rain last week. All flood advisories and warnings for San Diego County have been lifted, the NWS said.

    High temperatures Tuesday are expected to reach 64 along the coast, around 65 in the western valleys, 59 to 64 near the foothills, 50 to 58 in the mountains and 65 to 69 in the deserts.

    Dry weather is forecast to return Thursday, followed by the development of Santa Ana winds from Thursday into Friday.

    Winds could strengthen over the weekend, bringing warmer daytime temperatures west of the mountains from Friday through Sunday. Cold nights are expected in the deserts and in wind-sheltered valleys and mountains areas, meteorologists said.
