Diet Coke Cherry is officially coming back, and in more countries than just the United States.
The once-discontinued flavor made a limited return last summer, and by October, rumors were swirling that Coca-Cola had been planning a wider, more permanent release. At the time, there was little to report on, but now, three months later, we've finally got more to share.
Early on Monday, Coca-Cola announced that its highly anticipated re-release of Diet Coke Cherry would also be available in the United Kingdom–and with a new look.
Diet Coke Cherry Officially Returns to Stores
When Coca-Cola temporarily brought the item back for a very limited time during Summer 2025, it did so with a "retro" vibe (just like it did with Diet Coke Lime). It was also pretty exclusive and released only at Kroger family stores in the U.S. (Baker’s, City Market, Dillons, Fred Meyer, Fry’s, King Soopers, Mariano’s, Ralphs, etc.) and Tesco stores across the pond.

But now that it's returning to the brand's everyday lineup, it's getting updated packaging that aligns with Coca-Cola’s current visual identity and expanded availability (likewise, the company is also doing something similar with the re-release of its even more caffeinated, "bolder" new Mr Pibb recipe).
"We are delighted to announce that Diet Coke Cherry will be joining the Diet Coke family permanently," Tara Byrnes, senior brand manager for Diet Coke Great Britain, shared in the Jan. 5 announcement. "Fans asked for it, and loved the retro limited edition launch while it was here! With a bold flavour and new look, Diet Coke Cherry continues to encourage fans to make Diet Coke breaks reflect ‘your taste’ even more."

Just as we were told this past fall, the fan-favorite flavor is making its grand return in both bottles and cans in the U.S. and the U.K. Stateside, shoppers will find the cherry-flavored cola at major retailers nationwide (as well as convenience stores) in 20-ounce single bottles and 12-ounce cans. In the U.K., we're told it will be offered in 300-milliliter cans, 500-milliliter bottles, 2-liter bottles, eight packs of 330-milliliter cans and 24-packs of 330-milliliter cans at major retailers nationwide (prices may vary).
As for when fans can expect to see the new variety on shelves, a spokesperson said it's already available at some stores in the U.K. and rolling out to more as the month goes on, so we expect it to be available at stores across the U.S. in the coming weeks as well.
And, if you're only here for the cherry, you'll also want to keep an eye out for Coca-Cola's new Cherry Float flavor, which is expected to be released sometime in early 2026 (so very soon) in both zero and full-sugar varieties, presumably coinciding with the disappearance of Coke's holiday exclusives like its new Creamy Vanilla soda.
