A Horn product from Mesquite, Texas, Coleman is listed as measuring 6-1, 210 on the Baylor roster. He played in 35 games over the past 3 seasons, giving him one season of remaining eligibility.
Coleman posted career-highs in all defensive statistics during the 2025 season. Playing in 12 games, Coleman registered 46 total tackles with 30 solo stops and 6.5 sacks. Coleman had 6 passes defended, including the first 2 interceptions of his career.
Florida‘s first commitment of the portal cycle comes at a position of need. The Gators have seen numerous defensive backs opt to enter the portal after the completion of the 2025 season, including Jordan Castell, Sharif Denson and Aaron Gates. Denson announced a commitment to Ole Miss on Sunday morning.
Florida’s defensive coaching staff has a new look under Sumrall. Former Kentucky defensive coordinator Brad White has taken the same position at UF. Fellow former UK assistant Chris Collins will coach the Gator safeties.
