Kelly Osbourne is mourning the death of longtime friend and celebrity makeup artist Jasen Kaplan.
“I’m devastated. I love you so much @JasenKaplan,” Osbourne, 41, wrote via her Instagram Story on Thursday, January 1. “Thank you for all the love, laughter and joy you brought [to] my life. I hope you are at peace now. Life will never be the same without you! RIP my dear friend.”
Kaplan passed away in New York City on Wednesday, December 31, Page Six reported. A cause of death has yet to be revealed.
“@JasenKaplan I promise to make sure Coco is always looked after,” Osbourne wrote in a separate Instagram Story while sharing a photo of Kaplan in bed with his dog. “I will forever miss our late night FaceTimes!”

The former Fashion Police cohost went on to post some of her favorite memories with Kaplan, including a day when he dressed up as Osbourne.
“No one was as funny as you!” she wrote. “You were the best wing man a girl could ask for. 25 years of friendship and every second was worth it.”
The New York Police Department told Page Six on Thursday that they’re investigating the death of a 46-year-old man at Kaplan’s apartment building and that the chief medical examiner will determine the cause of death.

More recently, Kaplan had the chance to work with Bethenny Frankel on numerous campaigns with brands like MCoBeauty and Terez clothing.

In September 2024, Kaplan also traveled to Paris with Frankel on a special work getaway that he described as a “trip of a lifetime.”

In between working with reality stars, Kaplan also had the opportunity to appear on the small screen when he was a contestant on Finding Prince Charming.
Kaplan appeared on the gay, Bachelor-style dating show produced by Lance Bass for Logo in 2016. He was ultimately eliminated in week 2.
