All Greeley and Weld County residents can recycle their real, natural Christmas trees for free until Jan. 31 at the Greeley Organic Waste (GROW) Center.
Residents can drop off their real Christmas trees at the new GROW Center at 1150 25th Ave. Residents must remove decorations and lights from trees before dropping them off, according to a city news release.
After the trees are dropped off, staff at the GROW Center will grind up the trees and turn them into compost. Recycling trees in this manner helps reduce landfill waste and lowers greenhouse emissions, according to the release.
During winter, the GROW Center is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, weather permitting. The Center will not be open on New Year’s Day.
