Starbucks Menu Gets ‘Beastified’ With New Celeb Drink Collab

Starbucks and MrBeast are teaming up to launch a "bold" new beverage inspired by his controversial Prime reality competition series, Beast Games: Strong vs. Smart.

Ahead of the Season 2 premiere of the series, the international coffee giant revealed that fans have much more to look forward to than just the second half of its winter menu (which boasts seasonal offers like a Pistachio Latte, Pistachio Cream Cold Brew, and Valentine’s Day cake pop), but a limited-edition collab with the celebrity YouTuber.

    The new Cannon Ball Drink hasn't officially released yet, but it's already causing a stir on social media, so here's everything you need to know about the limited-time offer (other than it's the real deal).

    Starbucks Makes a Splash With New Cannon Ball Drink

    The new Starbucks menu item was inspired by and created on set of the series, and according to a press release, it will be featured in the “Cannon Ball Challenge” in the Beast Games x Survivor crossover episode 204, which debuts the first week of January. This season's stars—which are described as 100 of the world's strongest competitors and 100 of the world's smartest minds—will also have complimentary, 24/7 access to Starbucks food and drinks.

    “The collaboration between Beast Games and Starbucks brings together two iconic communities loved worldwide," Tressie Lieberman, global chief brand officer at Starbucks, shared in the Dec. 29 announcement. "When contestants saw Starbucks on set, they said it felt like home – and that’s exactly what we hoped to deliver. We are thrilled that fans can participate too, and they are in for a treat with the Cannon Ball – a barista-created drink that became an instant hit with contestants and even made its way into a challenge."

    To commemorate the partnership, Starbucks Refreshers are getting “beastified” with the addition of a colorful new drink it made for fans of the series, the Cannon Ball Drink. The limited-edition beverage is said to feature Starbucks' "bold" and "tart" lemonade, with added flavors of Strawberry Açaí and Mango Dragonfruit Refreshers, and is then topped with fruit inclusions. It's only available iced (prices may vary).

    "The Beast Games competitors pushed themselves to the limit on a daily basis, so we were excited that Starbucks was up for the challenge of powering the competition and helping our contestants recharge in Beast City," Beau Avril, senior vice president of global media and partnerships at Beast Industries, added. "We can’t wait for fans everywhere to taste a little bit of the action with the new Cannon Ball Drink."

    As the collaborators celebrate, fans are wasting no time sharing their mixed bag of opinions.

    "Sounds good ngl," one fan wrote online.

    Another called it a "Pretty drink."

    "Just bring orange Valencia back," a third lamented, before several others also expressed disdain over the upcoming release, with one teasing: "no please no."

    One more, also less impressed, explained the apparent lack of creativity as one reason for their disappointment: "You can make a drink like this already with the customizations in the app," they wrote, unintentionally sharing useful information for when Starbucks eventually decides to remove the special from its drink menu.

    As for when and where prospective customers can order the collab, the new Cannon Ball Drink will launch in Starbucks coffeehouses across the United States the same day of the drink's special feature in Season 2 of Beast Games, on Wednesday, Jan. 14. The series premieres the week prior on Prime Video.
