Transportation available to help seniors get around
All senior citizens are reminded that the city has a transportation program available to those 60 and older who reside in Anaheim.
The program offers transportation to social activities, recreation, shopping and medical appointments that are within a 10-mile radius of a senior’s Anaheim/Anaheim Hills home. This transportation service operates 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays, and on weekends from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Senior Wheels provides transportation to the nearby Savi Ranch shopping center and The Village of Orange from Anaheim Hills, as well as to medical appointments at Kaiser Permanente in Savi Ranch. Other nearby locations are also available.
Vouchers for round-trip rides are $2 each, with two vouchers required per trip. For additional information about the program or to purchase vouchers, call 714-765-3904 or purchase vouchers at the East Anaheim Community Center.
Let your recycling help others
The Knights of Columbus at San Antonio Church will host a Recycle Saturday from 8 to 10 a.m. on Jan. 3 for collecting CRV containers, including glass, bottles and cans. And the community is encouraged to bring these recyclables.
Drop off your CRV-marked beverage containers in the church’s south parking lot off Solomon Avenue. Funds earned from the recycling fundraising help the Knights of Columbus to provide needed assistance to various charitable organizations. Some of these include: Thomas House, Mary’s Kitchen, Isaiah House and Grandma’s House of Hope, which aid the homeless and those in need.
For additional information, contact the church office at 714-974-1416.
