Evacuation orders issued after fire sparks in Fourmile Canyon, west of Boulder

Evacuation orders are in effect west of Boulder on Monday evening after a wildfire sparked in the Fourmile Canyon area.

The evacuation alert was issued just before 6 p.m. and first responders were called to the 700 block of Wild Turkey Lane, Vinnie Montez with the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said.

Montez did not say how many people received the evaluation order or the size of the fire.

Authorities enacted a stage 1 fire ban Monday as high fire danger persisted across the area due to unseasonably warm temperatures and extremely dry fuels. Earlier Monday, the National Weather Service issued a fire weather watch, alerting of humidity levels, as low as 9%.
