Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams endeared himself to fans with his incredible game-winning touchdown pass against the Green Bay Packers, and his game-worn jersey found a great home.
Williams was joined Sunday by Chicago Cubs outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong and record executive and Lyrical Lemonade owner Cole Bennett at the first-annual “Holiday Handoff,” preparing meals and care packages for thousands of Chicago residents.
During that event, Williams, wearing a “cheese grater” hat after the big win over the Packers, dropped a very special gift onto a table for Bennett: his autographed game-worn jersey from that contest.
Needless to say, Bears fans will like what he had to say on the uniform.
In addition to his name, he also included several messages, including “DA Bears. GB Suck” and a very succinct message for the Packers: “F— GB!”
Williams’ 46-yard touchdown pass to D.J. Moore in overtime led the Bears to a 22-16 victory and gave them a stranglehold on the NFC North standings heading into the final two weeks of the season. He also moved his career record against the Packers to 2-2, splitting the games in the last two seasons.
Needless to say, Moore got into the spirit of the rivalry with his comments after the game, saying “at the end of the day, it’s F the Packers, always.”
He also wore a cheese grater hat in the locker room after the game, receiving a game ball from head coach Ben Johnson.
