A man was hospitalized after at least one sheriff’s deputy fired their weapon following a disturbance at a Jack in the Box in Bassett, an unincorporated community near La Puente, on Sunday, Dec. 21.
Deputies responded around 5:50 p.m. to 506 Workman Mill Rd., where a 911 caller reported someone being uncooperative and refusing to leave the restaurant, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The suspect also didn’t cooperate with deputies, and at least one deputy fired their gun, the Sheriff’s Department said.
Paramedics took the man to a hospital, but sheriff’s officials didn’t specify his injuries or condition.
No further information was immediately available. The shooting and the circumstances leading up to it remain under investigation.
