Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Rochester Swim Club’s Julia Ogren has committed to the University of Louisville as a part of the Cardinal women’s 2026 recruiting class.

I am excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Louisville! I am beyond grateful for this opportunity. Thank you to my family and friends for believing in me and to my coaches and teammates for their support and encouragement! GOOO CARRDDDSS!!!!

Ogren hails from Rochester, Minn, and represents John Marshall High School. Just a month ago, Ogren competed at the Minnesota Girls Class AA State Championship, where she picked up a state championship title in the 100 butterfly, touching in a lifetime best of 53.52, a two-spot improvement from her 2024 result, where she finished 3rd in 54.37. Ogren also added a 5th-place finish in the 100 free (51.08), slower than her best time in the event from the 2024 state championships, 50.03.

Ogren recently competed at the Speedo Winter Junior Championships – West (SCY), where she competed in the finals of the 100 fly, touching 21st overall in 54.18. She did come away with two lifetime best swims, in the 100 back (55.64) and 200 fly (2:02.67).

She also holds best times in the 50 free (23.02), 200 free (1:50.31), and 200 back (2:02.67).

    Best Times SCY:

    50 Free: 23.02 100 Free: 50.03 200 Free: 1:50.31 100 Fly: 53.52 200 Fly: 2:02.67 100 Back: 55.64 200 Back: 2:02.42

The Louisville women finished 3rd at the 2025 ACC Swimming and Diving Championships.

Based on Ogren’s tip times, she would have finished 52nd in the 50 free, tied for 56th in the 100 free, and 53rd in the 200 free.

Ogren has a nice combination of freestyle, butterfly, and backstroke skills in her arsenal, with a very real possibility that she could expand into those other strokes come her time with the Cardinals.

Ogren is the first publicized commit in the Cardinals’ 2026 recruiting class.
