Boulder, Colorado’s Lexi Byrn has made a verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Southern California in the class of 2031. She wrote on social media:
“After careful consideration I am excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Southern California! Thank you to all my family, friends, coaches Wolfgang, Tricia, Jackson and my uncle Andy for helping me get here. A big thank you to Coach Meghan, Coach Lea, and the entire coaching staff at USC for giving me such an amazing opportunity. I can’t wait to become a Trojan! FIGHT ON! ”
Byrn is a junior at Fairview High School. She swims year-round with Flatiron Athletic Club and specializes in butterfly and freestyle. At the 2025 Colorado High School Girls 5A State Championships, she finished 3rd in the 100 fly with a PB of 55.37, and came in 10th in the 500 free (5:13.47). The next month, she went to Austin to compete at Four Corners Sectionals. There, she logged new PBs in the 100 free (53.06), 200 free (1:56.83), 100 back (57.54), and 200 IM (2:09.24).
She kicked off the 2025-26 short-course season with PBs in the 50 back (27.86) and 50 fly (25.31) at the NJST Grand Prix Invite in October. Two weeks later, she lowered her lifetime bests in the 500 free (5:01.28), 100 fly (54.57), and 200 fly (2:00.04) at the ACES Fall High Point meet.
Byrn exploded at 2025 Winter Juniors West, dropping 4.5 seconds in the 200 fly to win the event with 1:55.65. She also finaled in the 100 fly, hitting a PB of 53.79 and placing 17th. She clocked her best non-altitude 500 free time (4:58.62) in prelims, as well.
In long-course season, she notched a trio of lifetime bests in the 50 fly (28.91), 100 fly (1:02.12), and 200 fly (2:14.15) at Summer Junior Nationals in Irvine, placing 11th in the 200.
Byrn will join the Trojans in the fall of 2027 with Rowyn Wilber and Charlotte Milkie. Her 200 fly time would have scored in the ‘A’ final at the 2025 Big Ten Women’s Championships, where USC placed 5th out of 14 teams.
