We may be gearing up to celebrate the Christmas holiday, but summer concert planning is already in full swing.
And one legendary rock band that helped define the sound of the 1970s and 1980s is making a long-awaited return to the stage, rejoining a popular concert series a decade after their last appearance.
The special performance from Foreigner will give fans a rare chance to relive the era when the group's music dominated rock radio.
On Friday, July 17, 2026, Foreigner will return to Rotary Green to perform as part of the Mid-Summer Classics Concert Series in Elk Grove, Illinois, bringing hits like “Jukebox Hero, “Hot Blooded” and “I Want To Know What Love Is" before a spectacular fireworks show.
Foreigner previously drew thousands of attendees when they played at Rotary Green in Elk Grove Village on July 17, 2016, for the village's 60th anniversary. With their return to the stage, 10 years to the date, they'll be on hand to mark the village's 70th anniversary milestone.
The band is just one of several announced by Elk Grove Village Mayor CraigJohnson, with the 16th summer concert series called the "town's priciest ever" by Shaw Local.
Additionally, country star Jake Owen will perform on July 4, with the mayor stating, per Journal-Topics, “Jake Owen is performing for the country’s 250th anniversary. What’s better than good old country music for the anniversary?
Fitz and the Tantrums will be taking the stage on Thursday, July 16, with hits like "Handclap" and "No Goodbyes," followed by Smash Mouth on Tuesday, July 21, at Village Green, with performances of hits "All Star" and "Walkin' On the Sun."
Air Supply will wrap up the summer concert series on Tuesday, July 28.
The concerts are free to attend, funded by the village and park district.
Earlier this month, Parade reported that Foreigner is shaking up its classic setlist to welcome back original singer Lou Gramm for a run of December concerts.
In addition to the stop at the Mid-Summer Classics Concert Series, the band has a full slate for 2026, with orchestral shows in March, before hitting the road again for the Double Trouble Double Vision Tour alongside Lynyrd Skynyrd.
In celebration of the band’s 50th anniversary—they formed in 1976—next year’s tour will also take them to Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands, and other European countries. See the full concert dates here.
