One man has died after being taken to the hospital in a Tuesday four-vehicle crash involving a Greeley-Evans Transit bus.
Greeley Police officers responded to the crash at approximately 2:45 p.m. at the 4400 block of 10th Street, according to a Greeley Police Department Thursday news release. An 82-year old man from Kersey, driving a Chevrolet Trailblazer, struck the rear end of a GMC Yukon, which then struck the bus that hazard lights on while passengers were getting on and off at an authorized bus stop.
The 82-year-old man was taken to a hospital after the crash, and died Wednesday.
The driver of the Yukon, a 50-year-old woman, and a passenger, a 75-year-old woman, were taken to the hospital and had no injuries. A fourth vehicle, driven by a 65-year-old man, was pushed by the Yukon and was uninjured. The bus driver, a 60-year-old man, was treated for a minor injury and later released. All passengers on the bus are uninjured.
Early investigations of the four-vehicle crash indicate that the Trailblazer was traveling too fast and following the GMC Yukon too closely.
The Weld County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the deceased man after next of kin have been notified.
