CHILI, N.Y. — Santa paraded through the streets of Chili on Wednesday night on a fire truck decked out for the holiday season. However, instead of giving out presents, he collected food donations for the Pearce Memorial Church Community Food Bank.
The Chili Fire Department organizes the annual Santa Run. On the route, Santa waves to children and welcomes neighborhoods across the fire district with sirens and holiday music. He also gives out thousands of candy canes, provided by Chili-Paul Wegmans.
Thursday will be the final night of the Santa Run. It begins around 5:45 p.m. and wraps up between 8 and 9 p.m. You can see if Santa will pass by your street on the fire department’s website.
Crews will still remain in service for 911 calls during the Santa Run. People are asked to bring bagged, non-perishable, and unexpired food to donate.
