Riyadh, Dec. 16 (SANA) Syrian Minister of Economy and Industry, Mohammad Nidal al-Shaar, discussed with Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, means of strengthening cooperation between the two countries in economic and industrial fields.
During the meeting, held Tuesday on the sidelines of “the Made in Saudi Arabia 2025 exhibition,” discussions focused on establishing industrial cities in Syria with support from Saudi Arabia. This initiative aims to revitalize the Syrian industrial sector, create job opportunities and support economic recovery efforts.
Both sides emphasized the depth of the historical relations between Syria and Saudi Arabia and their commitment to developing them in a way that serves common interests and enhances cooperation in industrial and investment fields.
In a relevant context, minister al-Shaar visited the headquarters of the Saudi Industrial Development Fund (SIDF) in Riyadh, where he met Prince Sultan bin Khalid Al Saud, CEO of the Fund, along with several officials. The talks addressed ways to boost joint cooperation in industrial development.
The Syrian minister was briefed on Saudi Arabia’s experience in supporting and financing the industrial sector and listened to a detailed presentation on the Fund’s mechanisms and programs aimed at developing investment, enabling industrial projects, and enhancing the contribution of industry to economic development.
Minister Al-Shaar stressed the importance of benefiting from the Saudi experience and exploring the possibility of applying similar models in Syria to support the industrial sector and boost national production. Prince Sultan bin Khalid Al Saud, in turn, affirmed the Fund’s readiness to exchange expertise with Syria and strengthen frameworks of joint cooperation between the two sides.
“Made in Saudi Arabia 2025 exhibition” was opened Monday and lasts until tomorrow. The Syrian pavilion features more than 25 companies from various industrial and service sectors, under the slogan “We Resemble Each Other”—a reflection of shared values and an extension of Saudi Arabia’s participation under the same theme in Damascus International Fair held earlier this year.
