The final Chicago Bears injury report of Week 15 is out.
There is some good news and some bad news as we dissect the information at hand. But because I am in a good mood (thanks, coffee!) this afternoon, let’s start with the good — most notably Rome Odunze’s status.
Rome Odunze is listed as questionable to play on Sunday after being listed as a limited participant in Friday’s practice at Halas Hall. Odunze was limited throughout the week, so it is of no surprise to see that he is questionable to suit up and play against the Browns on Sunday. But still … a week of limited practices after a week of not practicing at all constitutes an upgrade when it comes to Bears injury report fodder this time of year.

Traditionally, a questionable designation on a Friday represents a 50-50 shot for a player to give it a go on game day. However, I feel as if the Bears will want to play it cautiously because (1) Odunze is a key piece to the offensive puzzle and there is no good reason to rush him back into the lineup and (2) Chicago’s football team has a quick turnaround to Week 16 with the Green Bay Packers coming to town for a Saturday night showdown at Soldier Field.

Rome’s standing on the Bears injury report might force the team into deciding to hold the talented wideout off the field for this game in order to have a better chance at getting him ready to go for a game against the Packers that figures to have a ton at stake. This isn’t to say that the upcoming game against Cleveland isn’t important. Bears Head Coach Ben Johnson said it was a game the team desperately needs to win — and those were his words, not mine. And when it comes to the playoff odds, the numbers back what the head coach had to say.
Ultimately, I trust whatever decision the Bears make regarding Rome Odunze’s playing status. There seems to be an easy decision to make here. I hope they make it.

— Bears Communications (@BearsPR) December 12, 2025Sigh. The bad news from the Bears injury report is that two players have already been ruled out for Sunday’s game. Running back Travis Homer and cornerback Kyler Gordon will not suit up on Sunday. Gordon was listed as a DNP on all three Bears injury report updates this week. And when it comes to Homer, at least the core special teams contributor was upgraded to a limited participation for Friday’s practice. Perhaps there is a chance Homer can return for Week 16 against the Packers.
But on the bright side, four players who spent time on the bears injury report this week were full participants on Friday and have no game day designation. In other words, cornerback Jaylon Johnson (groin), linebacker Ruben Hyppolite II (shoulder), cornerback Tyrique Stevenson (hip), and wide receiver Olamide Zaccheaus (hamstring) should be good to go. For Stevenson, his return will be a welcome sight for a secondary that can always use some depth. As for Zaccheaus, his return means the Bears *REALLY* don’t need to force Rome Odunze back into game action this week.
