A late header from Marc Guéhi handed Crystal Palace all three points from their London derby with Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday.

Eddie Nketiah gave the Eagles the lead after a neat move, but Harry Wilson equalised with a smart finish before half-time in an even contest in the capital.

Guehi got on the end of a Yeremy Pino corner with less than three minutes of normal time remaining to make it 2-1, though, giving Oliver Glasner’s men a win that takes them up to fourth in the Premier League. Fulham remain in 15th spot, just four points outside the relegation zone.

Daniel Muñoz missed the game with a knee injury. It was only the second time the Colombian has not been in a Crystal Palace starting XI in the Premier League since he debuted for the club in February 2024, ending a run of 35 straight starts since a 5-1 loss to Arsenal in December 2024.

Coming off playing their part in a stunning nine-goal thriller against Manchester City on Tuesday – going from 5-1 down to almost making it 5-5 in stoppage time – Fulham started brightly, but they were undone by a superb move by the visitors in the 20th minute.

Guehi played a pass inside to Adam Wharton, who had just sent a sublime ball out left to Tyrick Mitchell to start the move. Wharton’s first-time pass into the box then found Nketiah, and the former Arsenal man drilled his finish into the bottom right corner of the Fulham net.

It was Nketiah’s third career Premier League goal against the Cottagers – only vs Sheffield United (3) has he scored as many.

If Palace’s goal was well-worked, Fulham’s equaliser in the 38th minute was arguably even more pleasing on the eye. Alex Iwobi sent the ball to Wilson on the edge of the box, and the Wales international played a one-two with Raúl Jiménez before curling his finish with the outside of his left boot past the despairing dive of Dean Henderson.

Fulham thought they had the lead seven minutes into the second half when Samuel Chukwueze’s cross was headed against the bar by Iwobi and Emile Smith Rowe put away the rebound, but VAR found that Chukwueze was narrowly offside in the build-up.

The game was finely poised, but largely devoid of real chances after that. That was until a corner in the 87th minute led to Palace finding the winner. A whipped in-swinging delivery by Pino found the head of Guehi, and he made no mistake to head past Bernd Leno from close range.

Since Glasner took charge of the club in March 2024, only Arsenal (65), Liverpool (57) and Man City (55) have won more Premier League points away from home than Palace (52 – P33 W14 D10 L9).

The victory sends the Eagles into the top four – the latest they have ever been as high in a Premier League campaign – in a season that appears to be providing more and more promise with each passing week.
