Wasick’s split is one of the fastest in history, with only Emma McKeon (22.62), Kate Douglass (22.72) and Ranomi Kromowidjojo (22.73) having been faster, and Femke Heemskerk has matched her at 22.82.

Placing 5th in the race was Hungary, which clocked 1:38.27 behind splits from Adam Jaszo (23.52), Henrietta Fangli (29.93), Szebasztian Szabo (21.35) and Petra Senanszky (23.47) to lower the 1:38 mark the same four swimmers established in the prelims. Coming into the meet, the Hungarian Record stood at 1:39.86, set back in 2013.
The split from Szabo is the second-fastest of all-time, only trailing the 20.73 dropped by Ilya Kharun last year.
The Lithuanian quartet of Mantas Kauspedas (23.14), Ruta Meilutyte (29.18), Smilte Plytnykaite (25.87) and Jokubas Keblys (20.52) combined for a time of 1:38.71 in the final, placing 7th and knocking off the National Record the same group set in the prelims of 1:39.32. Coming into the meet, the Lithuanian Record was only 1:44.94, set by the Sostines club in November 2024.
The Estonian team, which was up in 3rd at the final exchange, ended up placing 8th in 1:38.79, with the team featuring Ralf Tribuntsov (22.96), Eneli Jefimova (28.80), Daniel Zaitsev (21.78) and Egle Salu (25.25). That swim broke the National Record of 1:38.92 they set in the prelims. The prelim relay lowered the previous Estonian Record of 1:38.94, set by Tribuntsov, Jefimova, Zaitsev and Aleksa Gold at the 2023 SC Euros.
The Danish team, which finished 4th in 1:38.24, set a new National Record of 1:37.53 in the prelims, with that squad featuring Robert Pedersen (23.22), Jonas Gaur (25.84), Martine Damborg (24.99) and Julie Kepp Jensen (23.48). The previous Danish Record stood at 1:38.02, set at the 2019 SC Euros by a team that featured two of the country’s all-time greats, Jeanette Ottesen and Pernille Blume.
