Damascus, Dec. 3 (SANA) On the occasion of the first anniversary of liberation, the Syrian Ministry of Education, in cooperation with the Regional Center for Early Childhood Development, organized on Wednesday a national tree-planting campaign to highlight the values of connection to the land and environmental protection.
Minister of Education Mohammad Abdulrahman Turko, who attended the event, emphasized the importance of involving children in such initiatives that instill citizenship values, raise environmental awareness, and encourage participation in rebuilding damaged areas. He also praised the efforts of educational staff in reinforcing these national principles.
Children from the Regional Center planted olive saplings dedicated to supporting communities affected by the destruction of the deposed regime.
The campaign symbolized resilience and renewal after years of systematic damage to Syria’s environment and natural resources, which led to severe degradation of vegetation, agricultural lands, biodiversity, and increased desertification.
