Beloved Country Music Group Lady A Celebrates First Christmas Album in 13 Years With Epic Tour Launch

The holiday season is about to get even brighter as Lady A is set to take their recently released Christmas album, On This Winter’s Night Vol. 2, on the road. On Dec. 5, the Grammy Award-winning trio, made up of Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley, and Dave Haywood, will embark on their highly anticipated tour — The This Winter’s Night Tour — named after their festive project.

The This Winter’s Night Tour marks the band’s first-ever Christmas tour, and the group plans to bring their families along for the ride. There are nine children between each group member, including two newborns. So the trek is bound to be an all-out party. According to Haywood, per the Tennessean, “the band might have the [family] onstage [to]  sing or do something at the show."

The spirited tour kicks off Friday, Dec. 5, in Atlanta at The Woodruff Arts Center’s Atlanta Symphony Hall and includes a dozen stops before wrapping up on December 23, right before Christmas Eve. Lady A will conclude their holiday tour with three back-to-back homecoming dates in Nashville at the historic Ryman Auditorium on Dec. 21-23.

The Band’s Last Holiday Album Was Released in 2012

Lady A’s Christmas-themed album, On This Winter’s Night Vol. 2, dropped on Sept. 26 and serves as the group’s first holiday collection in over a decade. The harmony-filled singers’ first edition, On This Winter’s Night Vol. 1, was released in 2012. Their latest offering was produced by Nathan Chapman, Sam Ellis, and Dann Huff and features collaborations with Ricky Skaggs and Chris Tomlin. Fan favorite tracks include "Wouldn't It Be Christmas” and “Wonderful Christmastime,” with standards like “Winter Wonderland” and “Silent Night,” among many others.

Of the inspiration behind the project, Kelley told the outlet, "We were talking like, if we're gonna do a Christmas tour, obviously we're gonna have to learn more Christmas songs. And then it was like, well, if we're doing that, might as well record a new record. It just felt like the right moment to create some excitement and let fans hear something new live."

"I want this to be a show that everybody, grandma down to the youngest kid, can experience together," he added. "Some big, fun moments and some really special, stripped-down ones."
