Jordan reaffirms support for Syria’s stability and territorial integrity

AMMAN, Dec.2 (SANA) Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi reaffirmed his country’s continued support for Syria and its efforts to preserve stability, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

According to the Jordanian news outlet Al-Mamlaka, Safadi told a meeting on the Foreign Ministry and Expatriates Affairs budget that “Jordan continues to stand by Syria after years of war and destruction, and hopes to see a stable, secure future that safeguards Syria’s sovereignty and unity.”

    Safadi added that King Abdullah II has issued clear directives to support the Syrian people and help them rebuild on foundations that ensure the country’s unity, security, stability and sovereignty, while protecting the rights of all Syrians.

    He also reaffirmed Jordan’s support for the voluntary return of Syrian refugees, saying such returns would contribute to the country’s reconstruction.

    Safadi had reiterated Jordan’s position during recent talks in Amman with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, stressing that Jordan remains committed to supporting Syria’s reconstruction efforts in a manner that upholds its sovereignty and territorial integrity. He emphasized that Syria’s security and stability are essential pillars of regional security.
