90s Film Star Reveals The Comfort TV Show She Cant Stop Watching

Everyone has a comfort TV show, and this is Parker Posey's.

The American actress emerged as a defining figure of the indie film scene in the 1990s, earning the nickname "Queen of the Indies" for her performances. She appeared in favorites such as Dazed and Confused (1993), Party Girl (1995), The House of Yes (1997) and Best in Show (2000).

On Monday, New York Magazine released its inaugural "Culturati 50" portfolio, where the publication interviewed celebrities who shaped this year's entertainment, and asked them about the movies, TV, music, books, theater and art that influenced their 2025. One of the people interviewed was Posey, who gained renewed attention for her role as Victoria Ratliff in season three of HBO's The White Lotus earlier this year.

In her Q&A, the 57-year-old actress revealed that her comfort TV show was Love is Blind, a reality dating show where contestants date and fall in love without seeing each other, leading to an engagement based solely on emotional connection. Posey specifically spoke about her love for the show's third season, and how the women of the show "wore their hearts on their sleeves in a brave way."

"That show was a surprise to me, because it started as this dating thing and now the contestants are really savvy about what they’re doing, the experiment of becoming a celebrity and having their brand, whatever it is. It's transactional, but the women are also going, 'I fell for you,'" Posey said. "I think it takes courage to be thrown into something and then watch yourself be received on social media and admit, 'I was an idiot.'"

Parker Posey arrives for the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards at the Peacock Theatre at LA Live in Los Angeles on September 14, 2025.

The Kicking and Screaming actress revealed she started watching the show in 2023 while she was starring in the Off-Broadway play The Seagull/Woodstock, NY, because "the younger people in the cast were really into it."

The production, a contemporary adaptation of Anton Chekhov’s play The Seagull, relocated the story to a group of New York theater people who retreat to the countryside, only to find their artistic and romantic conflicts follow them. It ran from February to April 2023 at the Pershing Square Signature Center in New York City, starring Posey, Nat Wolff, Hari Nef, Aleyse Shannon, Ato Essandoh, David Cale, Patrick Foley, Daniel Oreskes, Bill Sage and Amy Stiller.

"We would talk about it like it was our soap opera," she concluded.

According to IMDb, Posey has two upcoming projects: the British drama-thriller Wild Horse Nine, in which she stars alongside Sam Rockwell, John Malkovich, Steve Buscemi, Mariana di Girolamo and Tom Waits, and an appearance as Deborah Katzman in an episode of Bream Gives Me Hiccups. She currently resides in New York City.

Love is Blind can be streamed on Netflix, while Posey's most recent project, The White Lotus, can be watched on HBO Max.
