Zachery Ty Bryan is back in the spotlight for yet another arrest.
This time, the Home Improvement star, 44, was charged with a probation violation tied to his previous domestic violence conviction, TMZ reports.
Bryan was denied bail and will remain in jail until Dec. 3. Bryan is still serving a three-year probation from 2023, which doesn't expire until October 2026.
His girlfriend, Johnnie Faye Cartwright, was also arrested Saturday, Nov. 29, and booked into the same jail, TMZ also noted on Sunday, Nov. 30. She is facing five charges, including DUI, three counts of reckless endangering and attempted first-degree assault. She's expected to be arraigned Monday.
Earlier this month, Bryan's ex-girlfriend was granted a five-year restraining order against him, according to court documents obtained by TMZ. They reveal Bryan’s ex claims he “punched her in the head” and allegedly threatened to kill her. The woman also claimed that Bryan was abusive toward their dog, allegedly spraying bleach in its face.
In January, TMZ reported that Bryan was arrested in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, after a woman told police that Bryan had punched her in the face. Two years prior, Bryan was arrested in Oregon after being accused of felony assault (domestic violence related). In 2020, Bryan found himself in custody after he allegedly strangled Cartwright, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
THR received an email from Byran who attempted to clear his name. He told the outlet that the media blew things “out of proportion” when it came to his Oregon arrest, and that it was Cartwright who started the whole incident.
And following Bryan's domestic violence arrest in 2023, Cartwright released a statement.
“I’ll always want what’s best for the father of my children,” she told Us Weekly. “Trauma can bring struggles in many shapes and forms. It’s a horrible situation that’s going to be spun in so many ways. I’ve learned firsthand the truth will never align with what’s been put out there. I ask everyone to please be respectful of our privacy for the sake of the children and our families so the healing process can begin.”
