Ray Romano Said There Won't Be a Reboot of 'Everybody Loves Raymond'

Ray Romano, who was an executive producer and starred as Raymond "Ray" Barone in Everybody Loves Raymond, said that the show, which ended in 2005, will not be rebooted during the November 24 30th Anniversary Reunion. As Parade previously reported, Romona explained that they are "never gonna do one" because of the deaths of Roberts, Peter Boyle, who portrayed Marie's husband, Frank, in 2006, and Sawyer Sweeten, who played Ray and Debra's son, in 2015.

“Because we’re missing three cast members, three family members, so we would never try to do the show without them," said Romano while speaking to the audience members during the 30th Anniversary Reunion.

The show's creator, Phil Rosenthal, agreed with Romano while on stage with him.

“It wouldn’t be the same, and we have too much respect for the show itself and for the beautiful audience, to keep it the way it is. and thankfully, the show is still on every day, all over the world. If you want to visit your friends, we’re here," said Rosenthal while filming the CBS reunion special.
