CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. — The Canandaigua Knights youth hockey team held its second annual “Hockey Fights Cancer” game on Saturday, Nov. 29 at the Greater Canandaigua Civic Center.
The event raised more than $50,000 to support local cancer research. Organizers said more than 2,000 people attended to watch and support the cause.
The Knights, wearing custom purple jerseys for the event, won with a last-second goal over the Power City Bruins.
“Our message of one team, one fight, truly came to life,” Coach Tory Carissimo said. “The kids will remember this for the rest of their lives.”
