For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
South Jersey Aquatic Club’s Ryan Quinn has committed to the University of Notre Dame for the fall of 2026.
I’m beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at the University of Notre Dame. Thank you so much to my family, friends, and coaches for supporting me from the start. Thank you to the Notre Dame swim and dive coaching staff for supporting me through the recruitment process and giving me this opportunity. I’m excited for the future and everything it has to offer. Go Irish!!
Last winter, Quinn earned a pair of second swims at the 2024 Speedo Winter Junior National Championships – East (SCY). His top placement came in the 200 butterfly, where he finished 10th in a best time of 1:45.52. He also clocked a best time in the 100 fly to finish 11th in 47.45.
Earlier this month, Quinn competed at the JAC Fall Festival, where he lowered three all-time best times, including the 50 freestyle (21.24), 100 free (45.92), and 100 backstroke (48.70).
Quinn also holds a 200 IM best of 1:50.29 from the 2025 Middle Atlantic Senior Championship. A year earlier at the same meet, Quinn swam his fastest 500 free of his career, clocking 4:43.76.
Best Times SCY:
100 Fly: 47.45 200 Fly: 1:45.52 50 Free: 21.24 100 Free: 45.92 200 Free: 1:39.98 500 Free: 4:43.7 100 Back: 48.70 200 Back: 1:50.95 200 IM: 1:50.29The Notre Dame men finished 15th at last season’s ACC Swimming and Diving Championships.
Based on Quinn’s best times, he would have finished tied for 33rd in the 200 fly, 43rd in the 100 fly, and 52nd in the 200 IM at those championships.
A majority of Quinn’s best times have come in the last calendar year, which is a positive sign for Notre Dame.
There is some flexibility with Quinn, given how well he can swim at a productive level.
Over a season span, Quinn’s 200 fly improved by over three seconds, and his 100 fly improved by nearly a second in itself.
Quinn will join Grant Lilly, Finn Martin, Brayden Jones, and James Darcy in the Notre Dame 2026 recruiting class.
