Vanderbilt football has more momentum than ever, and the Commodores are seeing their success on the football field translate to the recruiting trail.
Omarii Sanders, who hails from Nashville, Tennessee, committed to Vanderbilt on Saturday, choosing the Commodores over the likes of Tennessee, Georgia and Texas A&M, among many others.
Sanders is the 2nd commitment in the Class of 2027 for the Commodores, joining 3-star QB Luke Babin. Obviously, this is a massive early commitment for Vanderbilt; Sanders is rated higher by 247Sports than any commitment in Vandy’s Class of 2026.

The 6-4, 210-pound linebacker attends Franklin Road Academy and also plays basketball.
The timing of this commitment is notable, too. Sanders chose the Commodores over fellow in-state program Tennessee, which will face off against Vanderbilt tonight in what will be biggest game in the rivalry’s recent history. Vanderbilt is still hoping to snag a spot in the College Football Playoff while Josh Heupel and the Vols look to spoil Vanderbilt’s incredible season.
