Samuel Adams is debuting another new brew that's perfect for winter—and this one is for those who prefer their beer on the darker side (and maybe without all the holiday spices).
Earlier this month, the popular brewer announced the arrival of an all-new Winter White Ale, which it said is the first new Samuel Adams holiday beer to hit the market in 30 years– since the 1995 debut of its spiced holiday ale, Old Fezziwig.
At the time, Samuel Adams didn't share a whole lot about the heavier, more robust newcomer, but with the holidays upon us, it seems like a fitting opportunity to tap into what's new this winter. So here's everything we know about the new Cold Brew Coffee Stout from Sam Adams.

Sam Adams' Cold Brew Coffee Stout only earned a sentence-long mention in the press release unveiling the brand's new holiday ale, and that's because it's technically not a new holiday beer. It's a new beer inspired by a cocktail that's seen a resurgence in popularity over the past few years: the espresso martini.

The combination of coffee and beer has been adopted and cherished by craft brewers all over, but this may be one of the first to openly admit it was inspired by the famous '80s cocktail made with vodka, coffee liqueur, simple syrup and espresso.

Described as a "robust" stout, the "buzzworthy" new Cold Brew Coffee Beer isn't shaken or stirred; it's said to blend beer and coffee for "a rich, roasted flavor and warming finish."
It's brewed with Samuel Adams' ale yeast and a blend of pale, roasted barley and chocolate malt. It features 6 percent alcohol by volume and should be a pretty smooth sip, falling into the lower range of the bitterness scale with 20 IBUs.
Unlike other seasonal offerings from Sam Adams, its new Cold Brew Coffee Stout can only be found in its limited-edition Winter Break Variety Pack, which also features a mix of Winter Lager, Old Fezziwig, and Winter White Ale (prices may vary).
It will only be around for the 2025-2026 winter season, but if it bodes well with fans this run, there's always the possibility that the Cold Brew Coffee Stout rereleases as its own six-pack or as part of another special-edition variety pack. After all, a company spokesperson told Parade via email, "We never say never!"
