Ankara – SANA
Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, affirmed Thursday his support for a Syrian vision based on amity and brotherhood, stressing that his country stands by the steps taken by Damascus to ensure living in peace and security after long years of war and destruction.
Erdogan, during a joint press conference with President of the Vatican State, Pope Leo XIV, in Ankara, added that Turkey has hosted more than 3.6 million Syrians over thirteen and a half years who fled bombardment and destruction, and has provided them with the largest amount of humanitarian aid in the world.

The Turkish President renewed his country’s stance in support of the Palestinian people, stressing that “Turkey’s greatest debt to the Palestinians is to achieve justice.”
He emphasized the necessity of implementing the two‑state solution based on the 1967 borders as soon as possible, through consolidating the ceasefire in Gaza, ensuring the safety of civilians, and delivering humanitarian aid.
