ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A man has been found guilty by a Monroe County Jury of murder for the death of James Jackson Jr., who was shot and killed on Cuba Place in 2024.

Prosecutors say on Aug. 30, 2024, Jackson was found with gunshot wounds in the driver’s seat of a car that had crashed into a pole on Cuba Place.
Jackson was immediately brought to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. After an investigation by the Rochester Police Department, Raphael Marquez and Timothy Brooks were arrested in connection to Jackson’s death.
Marquez previously pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to 23 years in prison, plus five years of post-release supervision.
Brooks was also found guilty by a jury of attempted robbery and criminal possession of a weapon. Brooks is set to be sentenced in January.
