For the last two months, the state has mailed out checks of up to $400, depending on your income and tax filing status for the year 2023. In total, the program has given $2.2 billion to New York State residents.
In the Finger Lakes region, which includes Rochester, the state has mailed 513,000 checks for a total of $134.3 million. For the Western New York region, which includes Buffalo, the state has mailed out 585,000 for a total of $152.7 million.
