A beloved soap opera star felt reflective as he traveled across the world to bid farewell to his father. Daniel Goddard, who portrayed Henry Dalton on General Hospital, opened up about his journey in an Instagram post he shared on November 18.

Goddard filmed a video as he sat in his car and explained he was preparing to fly back home to Australia for his father's funeral. He thanked his fans for all of their "condolences and compassion since the news of his passing." He added that he was grateful for everybody's support and noted, "You have no idea how much it means to me."
View this post on InstagramGoddard then shifted to talk about "one of my most proud moments ever," which was when he became an American citizen. He held up his United States passport and shared that having his first American passport "ranks up very high" with that earlier proud moment.
"It means more to me than you can imagine," he shared. He noted he loves and is proud of the United States, and he is honored to be a part of it.
Goddard also added a bit regarding General Hospital. He said he hoped everybody was enjoying his character of Dalton, who first appeared in January. His character was killed by Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) during the November 19 episode.
He acknowledged that his storyline was "getting messy" and joked about Genie Francis, as her character of Laura Collins, slapping him. "What's up with that?" Goddard noted that Francis played his mother during his days on The Young and the Restless, where he portrayed Cane Ashby from 2007 to 2019.
Despite the slap, Goddard gushed that he loved Francis, "More than you'll ever know." He added, "To work with you is an honour and privilege."

View this post on InstagramOn November 10, Goddard shared via Instagram that his father had died. He included a touching photo showing him hugging and kissing his dad and wrote, "I learned more from you than you ever could have imagined. Rest in peace. I love you, your son."

Another shared, "My deepest condolences to the whole family. Have safe travels and come back to us when the time is right."
