Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly reaffirmed the government’s commitment to tracking progress on the “Decent Life” presidential initiative, the country’s largest integrated rural development program aimed at improving living standards and essential services for millions of citizens across Egypt’s governorates.
Madbouly was chairing a meeting on Tuesday to review the financial and implementation status of the initiative’s projects, attended by Housing, Public Utilities and Urban communities Minister Sherif al-Sherbiny, Deputy Housing Minister Sayed Ismail, representatives of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority, and officials from the ministries concerned.
The meeting underscored the initiative’s transformative impact on rural communities, targeting enhanced public services, economic and social development, improved living conditions, and reduced disparities between urban centers and villages.
It reviewed the funding allocated so far, actual expenditure across sectors, and financial needs required to complete the remaining works of phase one. It also highlighted the priority of bringing key public service projects into operation.
Discussions further covered progress in infrastructure and service projects, including drinking water and sanitation networks, electricity and road upgrades, school and healthcare facility development, and the establishment of community and agricultural service complexes, in addition to projects aimed at improving housing and basic services within villages.
