For what seems like the millionth game in a row, the Bulls got superstar’d again last night. Lauri Markkanen was unreal last night, going off for 47 of Utah’s 150 points, and helped earn the Jazz a 150-147 win. While the Bulls keep running into red-hot stars, at some point, someone needs to put a stop to the bleeding and win a game for them. Coby White was brilliant last night, as was Josh Giddey, but just not quite as good as Markkanen. While you never want to lose five in a row, it’s not like the Bulls have played all that poorly outside of the Pistons game. Judging from what’s happened in the last few games, I’m expecting a monster outing from Nikola Jokic tonight. No Coby White tonight, which is to be expected. He won’t be playing back-to-backs out of the gate. He was going to be on a minutes limit last night, but due to the game going into double overtime and him getting the night off tonight, Billy Donovan let him go a bit. It was nice to see him look like his old self and not really slowed down at all by the calf injury. With him out tonight, and Tre Jones doubtful, look for more big minutes from Kevin Huerter and Ayo Dosunmu, the former of which will be looking to bounce back from a pretty tough night shooting the ball. Josh Giddey looked pretty darn healthy coming back from the ankle injury, going for 26-13-13 in last night’s loss. He might be the slightest bit slowed tonight, given the heavy minute load off the injury, but the fact that he’ll be back in the lineup on the second leg of a back-to-back is encouraging. If someone is going to drag the Bulls to a win against a really good, red-hot Nuggets team, it might have to be Josh Giddey. That will certainly be a tall task playing for the second night in a row at altitude, coming off a double OT game.Injury Report
