Westbound Interstate 76 was closed north of Denver during the Monday morning commute for a crash, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
As of 7:50 a.m. Monday, westbound I-76 was closed between Sheridan Boulevard and Interstate 70, according to CDOT.
One semitrailer and two cars crashed on the highway, causing minor injuries to an unknown number of people, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. Information on the cause of the crash and when the highway is expected to reopen was not available.
Nearby, another section of westbound I-76 was closed at Federal Boulevard for “safety concerns,” CDOT officials said. The closure was causing up to 25-minute delays for drivers, but no information about the cause was available.
