BROCKPORT, N.Y. (WHEC) – Avon football went on a touchdown spree to take down Notre Dame Batavia/Byron-Bergen, 41-15, to win the Class D Sectionals Championship.
The win moves Avon football on to the Class D regionals in Buffalo.
It’s also a second straight Class D title for the River Hawks and ninth Sectionals title since 1983.
“Not a lot of teams even have an opportunity to win one,” said head coach Andy Englert. “With this group to come back, re-focus, and have the same determination to get back here and then close the deal is something special.”
