University of Northern Colorado junior Kyra Rabess was named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation swimmer of the week for the second time this season following a school-record performance during a dual meet last weekend.
Rabess swam the 1,000 freestyle in a UNC-record time of 9-minutes, 56.05 seconds Nov. 8 in a meet against Cal Baptist. The time automatically qualified Rabess for the College Swimming Coaches Association National Invitational Championship scheduled for March 2026 in Florida. Rabess also won the 500 freestyle in 5:01.78 during the meet against Cal Baptist, and she swam a leg on the winning 400-free relay team.
UNC won the meet 212-88. Rabess and teammate Maria Erokhina also earned swimmer of the week honors in late October.
UNC is a member of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation in swimming and diving. The program announced earlier this year it would re-join the MPSF from the Western Athletic Conference.
