ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester fire crews fought a fire at a five-story apartment building on Litchfield Street Wednesday afternoon. They say it broke out just before 1 p.m., and crews at the scene eventually found the fire in a unit on the third floor.
A sprinkler system went off because of the automatic fire alarm, so officials say two units suffered some water damage. One dog was rescued by firefighters, and no one was hurt in the fire.
Officials say the fire started because of a cooking accident.
