Canadian native and Cobra Swim Club product Amelia Peron has verbally committed to Niagara University as a part of the Purple Eagles’ 2026 recruiting class.
Peron hails from Brampton, Ontario, and had one of her best showings of her career at the Ontario Championships (LCM) in July. There she notched two best times, clocking 2:10.35 in the 200 free and 4:34.32 in the 400 free.
Two months earlier, Peron produced two other major best times at the Scar Pan Am Invitational (LCM), posting times of 2:26.93 in the 200 IM and 9:29.42 in the 800 free.
Back in June, Peron cracked another two long course bests at the June Performance Invitational, doing so in the 100 free (1:01.24) and 400 IM (5:13.38).
Peron attends Brampton Centennial Secondary School, where she is a four sport athlete; competing in cross country, track and field, and volleyball along with swimming.
Peron also coaches younger swimmers for Cobra Swim Club.

Based on Peron’s converted times, she would have been predicted to qualify for the ‘B’ final in the 200 free, tied for 17th overall in the 500 free, and tied for 27th in the 100 free.
Peron projects to be a potential conference scorer in the 200 free, with a number of other events on the cusp of that scoring range.
She joins Natalie Gilbert in Niagara’s 2026 recruiting class.
