For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Milan Glintmeyer from Auckland, New Zealand, has announced her verbal commitment to the University of Texas for 2027. She wrote on social media:

“I’m beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and athletic career at the University of Texas, Austin. This dream could not have been fulfilled without the endless love and support of my family. Thanks to all those who’ve supported my swimming journey to date, including the coaches at Coast Swimming Club. Special thanks to Coach Carol, Coach Mitch, Coach Chad and all of the coaching staff at Texas! I’m beyond grateful for this incredible opportunity and I can’t wait to be a Longhorn!! HOOK ‘EM

The Longhorns are off to a strong start for 2027-28: they have earned commitments from #3 Sadie Buckley, #8 Daisy Collins, #11 Bianca Nwaizu, and diver Callie Fox, in addition to Glintmeyer.

At the end of September, Glintmeyer competed at the New Zealand Short Course National Championships and won the 100 back (58.91) and 100 IM (1:03.94), was runner-up in the 100 fly (1:00.13), and placed 3rd in the 50 fly (27.18). She left the meet with lifetime bests in the 50 back (27.43) and 100 back (58.91).

She represented New Zealand at last summer’s 10th World Aquatics Junior Championships, where she placed 9th in the 50 back (PB of 28.35), 8th in the 100 back (1:00.90), and 33rd in prelims of the 100 fly (1:01.76). She clocked a PB of 1:00.56 in the 100 back in the semi-finals.

In August, she competed at the 2025 Australian Age & Multi-Class Age Championships at the Brisbane Aquatic Centre. She won the 100 back final (1:01.31), was runner-up in the 100 fly (PB of 59.99 in prelims), and placed 7th in prelims of the 50 free (26.27) and 8th in finals of the 100 free (56.91). She also earned PBs of 27.29 in the 50 fly and a season-best 28.85 in the 50 back.

Glintmeyer’s best times (converted) would rank in Texas’s top 3 this season (so far) in the top 2 of the 50 back, 50 fly, and 100 fly, and the top 5 of the 100 free and 100 back.
