Friday, November 7th – Wednesday, November 12th Kazan, Russia SCM (25m) Live ResultsThe 2025 Russian Short Course Nationals started with a bang as day one already brought us a Russian record and a European Junior record.
As for the Russian benchmark, Egor Kornev fired off a time of 21.83 during this morning’s heats of the men’s 50m butterfly.
That not only erased Oleg Kostin‘s previous Russian standard of 22.07 from the 2019 edition of this competition but it also represented the first-ever sub-22-second result for any man from the country.
Not one to rest on his laurels, 21-year-old Kornev upped the ante during tonight’s semi-finals, managing to shave another .10 off that mark to lower his hours-old record.
With the final yet to come, Kornev checks in as the 4th-swiftest men’s SCM 50 fly performer of all time.

The women’s 400m free final took place this evening, with Ksenia Misharina getting it done for gold in a time of 4:01.98.
That held off Sofia Dyakova who was next to the wall just shy of a second later in 4:02.96 followed by Arina Pantina who collected bronze in 4:03.66.
Saveliy Luzin was the top performer in the men’s 1500m free final, posting 14:27.11 to land on the podium with gold.
Ivan Morgun touched in 14:36.58 and Kirill Martynychev logged 14:48.70 for the bronze.
The other final of the evening was the women’s 200m IM where Yana Shakirova earned gold in a result of 2:08.55.
Irina Zvyagintseva put up 2:09.42 as the only other swimmer to delve under the 2:10 barrier. Valeria Kozlova rounded out the podium in 2:10.03.
Semi-Finals
Arina Surkova was too quick to catch in the women’s 50m fly, capturing the top seed in a speedy 24.97. The next-closest competitor was represented by Daria Klepikova who registered 25.63 as the hunter for tomorrow night’s main event. The women’s 100m back semi-finals saw Alina Gaifutdinova earn the pole position, hitting 57.53 to establish a big-time personal best. Her previous career-swiftest outing checked in at the 57.99 from last year. Pavel Samusenko landed lane 4 for tomorrow night’s men’s 100m backstroke final. He turned in a time of 49.56, tying the 4th-best swim of his career.
