The engine of a vehicle caught fire inside a garage in Oceanside, but a hasty response from firefighters prevented further damage to the residence and surrounding homes, authorities reported Friday.
Crews responded Thursday afternoon to reports of a blaze that broke out while the unspecified vehicle was being repaired by at least one person, according to the Oceanside Fire Department.
Fire officials said the flames were snuffed out in under 10 minutes of the initial call and were contained to the vehicle’s engine.
No additional damage or life-threatening injuries were reported, but at least one person was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene, the department stated.
The cause of the fire was unclear.
