Egypt’s Transport Ministry is preparing to inaugurate the New Administrative Capital Monorail on Sunday, November 9.
This is the first monorail project in Egypt, extending 56.5 kilometers from the Stadium Station in Nasr City to the Justice City Station in the New Administrative Capital, and comprising 22 stations.
The trial run of the New Administrative Capital Monorail will not contain passengers.

Each station on the New Administrative Capital Monorail is equipped with 12 to 14 escalators and regular stairs, in addition to four elevators for passenger service.
There are also dedicated lanes for the blind and visually impaired, electronic journey information screens, and an audio announcement system.
Monorail Station Specifications
The New Administrative Capital monorail stations feature screen doors on the platforms for the first time in Egypt to protect passengers and prevent them from entering the train tracks.
Monorail Speed
The New Administrative Capital monorail operates on electricity at speeds of up to 80 km/h, with a capacity of 560 passengers per train, equivalent to 10,000 passengers in each direction.
Monorail Specifications
The New Administrative Capital monorail trains are equipped with safe passageways to facilitate movement and evacuation in emergencies.
They also feature internal and external surveillance cameras, screens displaying informational content and announcements, and illuminated maps above the doors to indicate the journey route. Designated areas are also provided for wheelchairs to serve people with disabilities.
The East Nile monorail operates autonomously without a driver, controlled from a modern central control center in the New Administrative Capital.
This center is equipped with advanced monitoring, camera, and sensor systems, as well as a fire and smoke detection system.
