Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Camp Hartman of Jacksonville, Florida, has committed to swim and study at the United States Naval Academy, beginning in the 2027–2028 school year. He trains year-round with the Bolles School Sharks and attends the attached independent college preparatory school.
Hartman confirmed the commitment in an email to SwimSwam, and provided the following quote:
I’m beyond honored to announce my commitment to The United States Naval Academy! Thank you to God, my family, my coaches, and everyone else who has supported me along the way. Also, a huge thank you to Coach Bill, Coach Mark, and Coach Jake for giving me this amazing opportunity. I’m super excited to be a part of the team you guys are building! God bless America!! Go Navy, Beat Army!!
Hartman is a middle-distance specialist who is strong across the 100-500 freestyles, in addition to both butterfly events. He enjoyed significant time drops during the 2024-25 season, entering the year with personal bests of 47.75 (100 free), 1:43.12 (200 free), 4:39.08 (500 free), and 53.81 (100 fly), while he hadn’t swum the 200 fly in years. By season’s end, his times had improved to 46.09, 1:40.56, 4:31.74, 50.97, and 1:52.04.
Though it’s still very early in the 2025-26 season, he is already off to a strong start in his junior year. At the Bolles vs. Wolfson vs. UCS dual meet last month, he won the 100 fly in 50.82, a lifetime best in his only swim of the meet.
Two weeks later, Hartman lined up behind the blocks at the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) 1A Region Championships, where he dropped seven-tenths to take second in the 100 free (45.78) and just under a second to claim silver in the 200 free, breaking 1:40 for the first time at 1:39.67. While he didn’t contest the meet last year, it marked a strong improvement from his sixth and seventh-place finishes in the 200 and 500 free as a freshman.
Next up is the FHSAA 1A State Championships, scheduled to take place in just a few days’ time. As a freshman, Hartman touched the wall eighth in the 500 free (4:39.08) and 13th in the 200 free (1:44.53), though he didn’t compete at the meet last year.

The team finished second to Army West Point at the 2025 Patriot League Championships, failing to earn the conference crown for the first time since 2005.
With two years left before he heads to Annapolis, Hartman’s times would already be useful to the Midshipmen at the conference meet. This past season, his lifetime bests would have earned him a spot in ‘B’ final of the 200 free, and the ‘C’ final in the 500 free. It took times of 45.64 (100 free), 50.19 (100 fly), and 1:50.95 (200 fly) to secure ‘C’ final slots in his other top events.
On the team itself, Hartman’s best times would have ranked him seventh in the 200 fly, 12th the 200 back and 200 free, 13th in the 500 free, 15th in the 100 fly, and 17th in the 100 free during the 2024–25 season. Senior Everet Andrew topped the charts in the 100 free (43.69) and 200 free (1:35.26), while sophomore Ben Mauldin clocked the leading 500 free time at 4:22.61. Sophomore Ben Irwin recorded the fastest fly swims at 47.27 and 1:42.99.
Hartman joins Zachary McNabb, Ryan Baldwin, Alex Jungbluth, and Parker Efird in Navy’s class of 2030.
