Week 9 Fun Facts, New Podcast Alert, NFL Trade Deadline Thoughts, and Other Bears Bullets

Happy NFL Trade Deadline Day! I hope the Chicago Bears are active. But I also hope they don’t do anything stupid or regrettable.

Today is such a tough day to navigate. Balancing the sentiment of “yeah, it would be cool to give this team a boost because they play hard and have been fun” with the voice in the back of my head giving me the “be careful what you wish for” treatment isn’t easy. I’d like to see the Bears front office add a starting-caliber cornerback and help off the edge without shipping off picks in Rounds 1-4. Am I asking for too much? Everything you need to know about the 2025 NFL Trade Deadline is here in this post from earlier in the morning. Plus, we’ve got LIVE UPDATES on the trade tracker. Trade: The #Bengals are dealing standout LB Logan Wilson to the #Cowboys, sources say, providing immediate defensive help. Wilson requested a trade amid a recent decrease in snaps, with Barrett Carter taking over. pic.twitter.com/I1haELExQe

    — Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) November 4, 2025 ESPN’s Todd Archer and Ben Baby have details on the deal, in which the Cowboys sent the Bengals a seventh-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. I strongly believe trades ike this one will be the norm when the dust settles from the NFL Trade Deadline. Wilson is one of a handful of Bengals defenders who have recently asked for a trade. After allowing 576 yards of offense to the Bears in Week 9, I’d want off that team, too. As for the Cowboys, that defense needs all the help it can get after losing at home to the Arizona Cardinals on Monday Night Football. If you used a birthday wish on hoping Matt Eberflus would be punished for his sins from his time as the Chicago Bears head coach, just know that your wish is coming true as we speak. I have getting the “cold take exposed” treatment from my co-workers on my bingo card:

Now that Colston Loveland has one good game under his belt, let’s go out and make it two. A Colston Loveland fun fact from ESPN’s Courtney Cronin (via Twitter/X): “Colston Loveland is the first Bears rookie tight end with 100 receiving yards in a game since Mike Ditka in 1961.” The Loveland catch-and-run were great. But this throw? Sheesh (h/t Adam Hoge):

    this thr…oh my god pic.twitter.com/iAKjXopJSX

    — Adam Hoge (@AdamHoge) November 3, 2025 Speaking of notable catches, Patrick Finley of the Sun-Times shares this note: “The last QB to have 2 catches in a game that wasn’t named Taysom Hill or Kordell Stewart? Bob Celeri in 1952.” Bob Celeri was a 10th round pick (127th overall) in the 1950 NFL Draft. He played 19 games in his two seasons in the pros, suiting up for the New York Yanks and Dallas Texans. No, I’m not making that up. Those are two real teams. You can click on the links for more! The Chicago Bears’ Week 9 win was a history-maker:

Not only were the Bears 0-40 when giving up 42+ points, they had lost 50 (!!) in a row when giving up 30+ points dating back to 2013.

    — Kevin Fishbain (@kfishbain.bsky.social) November 2, 2025 at 5:26 PM UGH! We were so close to Scorigami. And even though we didn’t get it, the game still resulted in a statistical anomaly. I dig this stuff:

Third time 47-42 has happened. 2020: BAL 47, CLE 42 2021: LAC 47, CLE 42 2025: CHI 47, CIN 42 all three 47-42 games in history have featured a team from Ohio on the losing end[image or embed]
